ABOUT KAMERAKRAFT
An idea born from an actual need
KAMERAKRAFT began in January 2020 with a simple need: a grip that could protect my Leica M6 on a six-month bike trip while also carrying spare batteries. Nothing on the market felt right, so I set out to build my own.

With a background in industrial design and mechanical engineering, I handled everything from the first sketch to the final prototype. Thanks to support from trusted industrial partners, the idea quickly became tangible.

The result was the LMGRIP V1.0; a small batch of just 50 grips. It became the first Leica film-camera grip to combine an ARCA rail, a spare-battery compartment, full base-plate protection, and a clean, minimalist design. When I introduced it to a few Leica groups, it sold out almost instantly.

From there, KAMERAKRAFT grew. In January 2021, I released the first M10 grip with battery-door access, an ARCA rail, and a spare SD-card slot, followed later by a version for the M11. Each product continues the same mission: to create thoughtful, precisely engineered tools that enhance the shooting experience without compromising the spirit of Leica cameras.

Julien joined me back in 2023 to take over the Strap section of Kamerakraft, with the same approach I had for the grips.

KAMERAKRAFT is still a one-person project. I design, prototype, test and assemble every single grip myself, and so does Julien for the straps. This keeps the process personal, intentional, and true to the original vision: crafting purposeful tools for photographers who appreciate honest engineering and ideas.
